A “Japanese horseradish”, “a turnip”, the “eggplant”, the “flower of an eggplant”, the “lotus root”, and the “leaf of the lotus root” are drawn. 「山葵(わさび)」「蕪(かぶら)」「茄子」「茄子の花」「蓮根」「蓮根の葉」が描かれています。簡略ながら特徴的な部分が細密に描かれていて、存在感のある絵です。なお、カブをカブラと呼ぶのは関西圏で多いようです。江戸時代でももちろん食は需要な要素で、料理の本も出版されていました。野菜も絵の題材になる事もあったようですし、こうして江戸時代の野菜を見ることができるのもそのおかげといえます。関心をもたれないものは描かれませんから。
